I don't know enough adult adoptees to generalize, but I have been friends with a few, both male and female. I would say that how they seemed to "carry" the adoption went along with their overall personalities--the ones who were more emotionally expressive expressed feelings about adoption...

I agree. Find a new agency immediately. They have been holding your money and you are not even active? Money that was due when the homestudy was completed? And it turns out its not really completed? That's not a relationship you are going to be able to fix. I would agressively end it now.

If you are going to get a refund, you do not need to file for an extension. Get the AITN before you finalize because you can not get one after and you will need to wait for the new BC and then apply for a social security number at that point. (Which can take quite a long time). I think it took...
